Whats the going rate for a Springfield Armory Scout model with the black synthetic stock?  This is the 18'' bbl version not the SOCOM.

My local FFL just quoted me $1359-1399 depending on distributor.

I want a Springfield Scout BAD!! BUT, it is really pricey.  The lowest prices for a new one are about the same as was quoted above.  That's before shipping, transfer fee, and surplus overcharge or whatever other hidden fee that will pop up (2-5% CC charge).  Then mags and ammo, possible optics.  Damn!  I've been thinking a lot about a cheaper DPMS AP4, it's a great shooter, but I don't like it as much as the M1A Scout.

I've seen this rifle and know the guy (although I get nothing from this)

But there's your deal.

Check the auction boards. I just purchased a like new one off of auctionarms.com . It has the black synthetic stock. I won the bid for $1096.00. It cost $35 to shipp it to my FFL. Then I had to do the transfer of $65.00 on my end. So the total was $ 1196.00. delivered to me . It was still cheaper then purchasing one locally. I couldnt find a used one and a new one was like $1500+ locally.
And the thing shoots perfectly. You will not be dissapointed with the scout. I think its the first rifle I actually have feelings for..LOL
Good Luck

I dropped $1400 for one a few weeks ago. Rifle was in great shape, and I got two battle packs of SA. 14-1500 is about average I'd say.

Not an SKS but maybe a Vector AK variant, shoot, I might splurge and get an Arsenal AK at $800.  Which is still a lot of money!

I'm probably out of my league here.  I ain't a poor man, but by no means a rich man.  I just couldn't stomach paying $1500 for a rifle.  I wouldn't spend that on a TV that I'd use everyday.  The rifle, even if I shot it 3-4 times a month just couldn't justify the cost.  Maybe that seems out of place because a lot of the guys on this board talk about their multiple ARs or dropping 2K on a rifle.  But it just ain't for me.  Oh well.

Besides, I got married in May.  I might risk my marriage If I brought home a $1500 rifle .

Great Deal! I was debating between a SOCOM 16 and a Scout. I grabed a SOCOM off of gunbroker for $1200. Should be here next week.

A wise man once told me, "If Joe ain't bitchin, Joe ain't happy".

Just pretend your name is Joe.

I could spend the money if I had it. AKs are great rifles and I own but I would rather have the M1scout in .308 over 7.62x39. My money would go on a rifle before I spent that much on a TV anyday.
