Hey guys, A good friend of mine has a Browning model 71 (high grade) that he's looking to get rid of. The Browning model 71 is basically a Browning manufactured copy of Winchester's model 71 lever action rifle, which was manufactured until the 50's and shoots a .348 Winchester round. It took me a few minutes to learn all this online as this isn't that well known a rifle. This thing was brand new and unfired, but we (morons) put 7 or 8 rounds through it last deer season to zero it. Other than that, the rifle is basically new. The version my friend has is blued on the barrel with a silver colored finish on the receiver, with a gold inlay of a deer scene on the receiver. I believe this is known as the "high grade" version as opposed to the standard grade, which would be all blued. I found this example on Gunsamerica linkage Exact same rifle, but not unfired as the one listed is. This is the only picture I've been able to find online showing the exact rifle I'm talking about. I'll try to get pics up soon. Anyone have any info on this rifle, and any thoughts as to it's worth? TIA |

Here's someone that thinks it's worth >$1500.00 The model 71 is thought to be the pinnacle of leverguns. It was based on the 1886 action and is both very strong and very smooth. The downside is they are a bit heavy and they aren't easily scoped. .348 is a potent caliber and can kill anything in North America. It's a great rifle if it's your cup of tea. |
Yep, same exact gun |
