I want a pre ban ruger 10/22 so I can put fun stuff on it like a folding stock and flash hider, and was wondering How I identify a preban from post ban? Or is it not that big of a deal for a .22 and I should just do the stuff and not worry about it?
I know people who just don't worry about it, but you are in California right? Might make a difference.
I've never heard the pre/post ban topic applied to the 10/22 before. I wouldn't worry about it. Let me know where I can get a folding stock; I'd like to put one on mine.
I saw a butler creek side folder that looked pretty nice.
i agree wyth Juggernaut...........
BUT !! what is the difference between a pre-ban 10/22 & a post ban 10/22........??
THE SERIAL #........!!!!!!!
So people have actually gotton in trouble for having a ".22 assault rifle" what a laugh, that would be really funny.
I have a Preban 1022 , it was configured in 1985 and has a 5 digit ser# and all of the Evil features that you are looking for , i havent shot it in awhile , do you have any good trading material . drop me a line if interested
Here is a List for the Ruger Rifles
heres your problem. thier are a million pre 94 10/22s but almost none of them are grandfathered with evil features. i have a real guninune pre ban grandfatherd ruger 10/22. good luck finding one. i think alot of the time they go for $450 in full dress. i guess thats with a 30 rd mag, so maybe 350
THE SERIAL NUMBER ALONE DOES NOT GRANDFATHER A RUGER 10/22. The rifle must have been configured as an AW before 9/13/94 to be legal. If it did not have the "evil" features before that date, they cannot be added now even if it was manufactured in 1970. You must find one that was assembled in an AW configuration before the ban, and must have some sort of proof of such just in case the question should ever arise.
