Dose anyone else have a hard time using Powder Valleys web site. The 2 computers I use and my phone all have problems with there site. I know they say you need Cookies and pop ups enabled which I have on all three machines. Most the time I try to navigate around there site I can't get anywhere, I check all the computer settings and still can't get anywhere but if I move on and come back a little while latter all of a sudden low and behold it works. I just don't understand why they have a pain in the rear site. I have no problems with Midway, Graf's, or any other site and they all use Cookies and Pop ups. Wonder how much business they loose from people that just move one to the next site that works right.

Like right now I can not look at primers, powder, bullets but I can see under the ammo tab and apperal. From the ammo tab I can now look at the rest of there site. Looks like they need to figure out there web site.

Yes, you have to open the PV website in a new tab or window. Otherwise your stuck on the home page.

Powder Valley's website doesn't work for me in Firefox, I can open IE, or now I use IE Tab, a Firefox add on to make it work.  There are a few websites that just aren't Firefox compatible, not too many, but a few.

Go up to Links.

Click on the Powder Valley link there.

Only way the PV site works for me.

Since I had problems with there site I surfed around and found Widener's to be cheaper by a few bucks on most everthing.

Try loading the site as a secure sttp/ site instead.Works for me when other settings have failed to let me browse.

I have problems as well with the home page, however once past that it seems to work fine. It appears to just redirect to the home page regardless of what item I click on and using FireFox. I haven't tried it with IE yet.

I have the same problem using Safari. I just end up shopping else where. Shame I used to like ordering from them.

Just looked it up and I would have saved $8.00 going through Wideners, thanks.  I always thought their shipping was higher.

Anyway, I just ordered from PV and could not get the site to work on IE so I opened it with Firefox and it worked fine.

Good question, because I can't get their site to work, and have spent at least $300 for powder after I left their web page.

I would bet they could double their web based sales if their website used the same software of whatever it is that every other online merchant in the universe uses instead of whatever goofy 1997 stuff they're running.

ETA - I sent them a link to this so maybe they'll hire a webmaster who knows what they're doing.

ETA 2 - I had to try 5 different subject lines and change my text becasue of their spam filter rejecting my email to them. Apparently subject lines like "Order problem" and "Online order issue" are spam and saying "A discussion on ar15.com about your website" sets off their spam filter.

Here's my 6th attempt at sending them an email that was also rejected as spam. I give up. I feel like I'm trying to send the director of the CIA a BCC forwarded email of a heartwarming story I heard on the interweb.

Subject - Order failure

Sirs,

A discussion has come up on the arfcom reloading forum about your website issues causing many folks to shop elsewhere if you'd like to read it.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/364867_.html&page=1&anc=3346059#i3346059

Personally it seems like half the time I try to shop on your site I can't get it to function on my IE9 browser and the other half it works fine.

Just something to consider in this era of web sales where your competitors sites function no matter what browser or settings a PC has.

Yours in shooting,

Lomshek

I mentioned to the owner/operator of PV the same in this forum a year or more ago. He became very defensive lol. Was just trying to help. I assume he is the web manager too.

If they don't know their site is unpredictable...they should.  I tried to use it earlier this morning and couldn't open anything other than the homepage.  I just tried again and now I can, and I haven't changed any settings on my computer.  It's entirely hit-or-miss for me and I assume many others.

Sent them this yesterday and asked them to add it to their problem info on homepage, passed on that Wideners had gotten a couple K in orders  in the past couple years when I wasn't able to use their site

But Wideners is cheaper anyway so why put up with there site? I would have purchased from them until I found Wideners so thanks to there website I am saving money.

Well then screw them. I have gotten used to ordering from others so I don't care. This has been going on for a while and it no doubt hurts his business.

Odd..  I've made several orders without issue from PV... I do tend to shop around so at time Grafs, Wiedners or Midsouth is cheaper... Other times, PV is the best option, they tend to have great sale prices a few times a year.

You should consider an email to Natchez... Their website is the pinnacle of "Suck".  I love their prices so I order from them by phone or directly inputting product numbers on the homepage out of the mailer catalogs.

Yep, had problems with PV since the first time I ever visited them a few years ago. Definitely not Firefox friendly. Eventually figured out I needed to use IE or Chrome. What a PITA, can't believe they don't have it fixed by now. I'll bet they've lost a ton of sales because of it.

Grafs, Midway, Wideners and Scheels get most of my reloading benevolence funds. Natchez has taken advantage of me on shipping in the past, Not Any More.  I agree PV is difficult to use.

I've had problems with PV in the past, but I haven't ordered reloading supplies for some time now.

I just logged on with FF10.0.2 with no problems. I opened a new tab and entered their web site.

For top notch customer service don't forget Gamaliels. Gal called me a few months ago to tell me they had 180gr .40 Speer Gold Dots in stock and did I still want some. I had asked to be contacted 6-8 months prior, had forgotten about it. Snagged 100.
