A local gun shop has a metric FAL rifle made by (if I recall correctly) Industria Militar.  It has a bare muzzle and a thumbhole stock.

Does anybody remember when these things were being imported?

I thought it might be a nice platform in which to build a quality ban-free FAL, with some compliance parts, furniture, and a little barrel threading.

It is going for $750...does anybody have any history on these, or reflections on the price?
