I'm still looking for a ruck and was wanting to know if anyone has any feedback on these rucks?
Kelty Eagle Blackhawk S.O.F. |
| I have the Kelty Falcon (the smaller version of the Eagle. I have a had a great experience with this pack, it is light, made of quality materials and a decent price. The Falcon Has MOLLE on it, so you can add some additional pouches. The one slight issue is that it is made with civvie level materials. This makes a hell of a lot lighter than most other "Mil=Spec" packs (IE Eberlestock), but at the cost of some durability. It depends on whether or not you are planning or putting your gear through the ringer, but It is as good if not better than most civilian gear. I highly reccomend it. |

It won't be used and abused like when I was in, but I don't want it to come apart when I need it most.
I need a ruck that can handle sleeping bag, tent, basically winter gear but could also be used in the warmer seasons also. I know the Kelty is big enough I just was sure about the durability. I heard both good and bad. The Blackhawk S.O.F. I have not found anything on it. My main concern on it I think would be the comfort level. Would it be more comfortable then the Alice I used " Back in the Day "? I would like to have just one ruck but I may have to get two. I prefer the OD/Ranger Green but if need be I could always die it. I want to keep it under $200 if at all possible. |
