I'm wanting to order a couple of rifles (a Garand and an '03) from the CMP, but I've got a couple of questions.

1)Do I have to be the one that signs for the rifle upon delivery? I'm overseas right now (on contract in Iraq), and planned to have them shipped to my home address. Is this ok?

2)Will my Texas Level 4 (PPO) range qualifications, along with a few training course certs, be sufficient for my "shooting" qualifications?

Thanks for the help guys!

Can't answer #2, but in Illinois a FOID card qualifies.

For #1.. I wasn't the one to sign for mine when it came in.

I hope this helps.
1 - The CMP requires an adult signature on delivery.   If the FedEx driver follows the rules you can never tell.  My wife usually signs for mine.  However, one time she was at a neighbors  down the street and the FedEx driver had my 10 year old sign for the delivery.
2 - Not sure.  Email customer service at the CMP and ask.  My guess is it will.

Be careful,   Once you get your hands on the first M1, you will want another and another.

P.S.
Be sure and check out the CMP for 30 cal ammo to feed your M1 and '03.

Good Luck,
