OPs bros, I’m kicking around the idea of doing a flush fit MRE build with an AEM5. What’s going to be the recipe for that?

Would I be better of starting with a 16” barrel? I’ll need a collar and brake. Any particular length collar? I know the barrel will need to be cut, but will it need to be profiled for the collar?

I made mine with with a 14.5. I don't know how honestly. I used an adco hider mount, and m4 collar. I did move the collar forward.

Couple thousand rounds, no issues.

I'd love some context on the newer 11/16x24 threads but it sounds like it may have more experimental for the .338 A3 design vs what was deployed on the A2.

I have 1 short step collar left. It will fix the problem. I may still have some M24's left from this last order. Just wanting to give people I may have missed time to respond.

The can is 8.5 turns. Is this too much? My mk12 mod 0 is a turn less.

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere in the last 78 pages, but what is the difference in size of the bullet exit hole on the front cap between the original Ops Inc 12th, AEM5, and the latest AEM5 where Ron has increased the diameter a bit to reduce the likelihood of front cap strikes?

@k31user - Do you remember exactly when you made this change?

I'm trying to figure out if the AEM5 I have in NFA jail right now is different than the one I have that was produced over a year ago. Out of curiosity, is it possible to "special order" an AEM5 with the original spec bullet hole diameter if I promise not to send it back for a cap strike repair?

Some of us actually use bore alignment rods before blasting rounds through a freshly mounted suppressor!

End of page 66 and 67 is where the discussion is. Bore went from .265 to .275. You aren't going to tell a lick of a difference between them when shooting.

Sorry. I've been a bit slow to respond lately. Been getting ready for Winter and getting a new phone set up for the shop. I lost a bunch of calls on this new phone by touching the wrong button. Old people shouldn't get new stuff.
