Held one today. Seemed to be well made and I love the straight grip stock on it.

$300 new.

Is this a good lever gun?

I have one and enjoy it greatly. Well built enough for me. But mine was $269 new at my local cabelas.,this was a little after Christmas 2012.

I just got a H001T, which is the slightly longer, octagon barrel version.

Haven't been out to shoot it yet ($45/brick for .22lr? Blah...), but the action is super smooth.

Like, I can cycle it with the hammer down using just my pinky smooth.

The sights on mine are real nice, but I'm probably going to add a Marble's tang sight.

Picture related, along with it's little brother, a 5.5" fixed-sight Single Six convertible.

We've got a Golden Boy, shoots 22 shorts, longs, and LR.  Nice wood and nice fit and finish, and smooth action.  It's accurate also.  American made to boot.

I bought one for my daughter several years ago. It's my...er...her favorite gun. Actually it is really pleasant to shoot. Butter smooth and nut hair accurate.

I've had mine for a couple years.  It works just fine and is fun to shoot.
I really enjoy seeing how fast I can crank it on steel plates.

Buy it, you'll like it!

Is the front sight connected to the front band? Can you replace the front sight?

I also have a H001T Frontier model and it shoots great.  Very smooth action, nice looking, and pretty accurate.  A good value for the money and its made in the USA from US materials.

My old Marlin Golden 39A is a much better rifle though.

I have one, the blued big loop version. Its OK. Its cheap, and crude, but it seems to shoot fine. I leave it in the truck, and its beat to hell.

It is most definitely not a 94/22, Marlin 39, or BL22.

I just bought a Golden Boy and I've got to say, it's a heck of a nice rifle for the 400 it cost. It's made at least as well as my 9422 and better than my 39A. It operates about the same as my 9422 and a lot more reliably than my 39A. I am really impressed with it. I love octagon barrels and the only thing I would like to see is a 24" barrel instead of the 20"  it is very similar to the 9422 in the way it handles and shoots. It's accuracy is on a par with the Winchester and a bit better than my 39A. Very good fit and finish, better wood than either the Winchester or the Marlin 39A. Not as nice as my Marlin 1897 CL but still a great buy. I couldn't be happier.
