Was out shooting through an Omega today.  When I was done, noticed this cleared spot on the ground.




Didn't really notice any dust kicking up while shooting. Before adding a suppressor to this rifle it would really kick up dust while shooting prone.  Anyone shoot prone with a .30 cal flat cap on an Omega?  Does it do the same thing? Just curious.

It's a brake designed to propel the gas sideways instead of forward so it's to be expected.

Sure, I get that. I'm used to the blast from a flash hider, guess it is more gentle coming out of the suppressor.  Was just surprised to see the cleared spot, as I didn't notice any dust kicking up.
