I think I have it where I want it as my go-to rifle. It took a few years to tweak. The optic may change to a 1-6x eventually, but I had the 1-4x and it works well so far.

Vortex Viper PST 1-4x
Aimpoint H1

Which mount is that for the red dot.

I see it's an h1, but if it were a nv compatible dot, would you be able to use it passively with pvs 14 while keeping stock in shoulder? Lol I'm having a hard time getting this question answered.

@Click2Boom

I still use the H1 with a PVS14. Turned down to the lowest couple settings, it works fine. I'm not entirely convinced that Aimpoint has different brightness settings on the T1/H1. Aaron Cowan and others, all way smarter and more experienced than I, do the same with other red dots.

The offset mount is an Arisaka Defense with the taller base plate for 1.93 height to match the scope. I can actually look through the scope or the red dot with a PVS14 on my helmet. It is not super comfortable, but doable. The laser means I use those for backups or as a passive aiming option. If the offset mount was by the charging handle, it would be a harder to get behind it with the PVS14.

Pics of front view of mount, aiming with the RDS and optic. I do have to cheat the stock up in my shoulder/neck a bit to get a view through the optics. It is difficult to view through any optic unless you are using IR illumination. Also, a PVS14 would need to be over your weapon side (some like to run it on the non-weapon side). The pics aren't great, trying to hold a camera and rifle without turning my head isn't easy.

Awesome 👌

Thats what I'm trying to be able to do.  I've used piggyback, but wanted to try the dot further forward, for various reasons

I have the laze too, but its good to have a passive option.

Cool setup, OG pst makes sense bc of weight.

Do you think the arisaka is in "the perfect spot" for this, or would it be better if it were offset one direction or another more?  (For passive nods use)

@Click2Boom

I got the Arisaka due to their reputation and the ability for the mount to swap between 35* and 45* angles. I wasn't sure what I would have needed without trying it. An LPVO with smaller or covered turrets would have allowed me to go 35* (one more reason I am looking at changing the optic). The 45* angle sticks the optic out a bit further than I would like, IE I need to use a different gun case now. I may have actually liked the RDS near the charging handle, but the offset mount then clutters up the CH and QD mount levers for the LPVO. It wasn't worth it to me to cram it back there. Badger Ordnance has an interesting solution for that, but it ain't cheap. Running it further forward makes it easier to sight with the NOD anyhow.

If you were asking about right side or left side of the weapon, I don't see how you could naturally manipulate the weapon very well if the RDS was offset to the left as a right-handed shooter.

Pic thread:

CZ Scorpion Evo III S1
HB Industries for most upgrades: trigger, rail, etc
Pakse grip
Streamlight TLR VIR II
Silencerco Octane 45HD with 3 lug mount

I haven't felt the need to upgrade the laser/illuminator yet. Different gun for a different role. I call it my Night-time Fun Staple Gun...   clak clak...   clak clak...

Some Aimpoint LPI / Marlin Dark 1895 "Lever-Love".

Direct mounting to 1:30 M-lok slot keeps this little fatty as low as she can be, while also putting the beam in-line with the bore. Added an Inforce WML-X (White/IR) to serve as illuminator, when needed.

Waiting on the Unity Hot button dual lead, I have had one on back order since March. Unity Taps works just takes up too much space and I have to mount it behind the MAWL which is a no go. Mod button will go in front of MAWL for perfection of running white light and VIS or blasting white light to overcome it being shined at me with retaining ir laser for aiming.

I just saw this... Thanks, brother. You have good taste. Ergonomics, form, and function are always top priority for me, but I also like to live on the rare and unique side. Not sure if I've seen any other LPIs here.

I started a "Tactical Lever Action" Picture Thread where you can see how this and a few other builds came to be. This one was more for fun/why the fuck not, but it actually works surprisingly well.

Wired up the Perst to a TAPS Sync and Modlite 850IR head. The Modlite+Perst laser are too bright to use in tight spaces, the Hotspot just blows out the rest of the image. So, I use helmet-mounted IR for small rooms, closets, etc.

Playing with a piggyback mounted LAM.  This is primarily for hunting and it was becoming annoying trying to adjust illuminator dispersion or switch modes with the LAM mounted on the end of the handguard.  Probably will end up with a D2 on here at some point as it looks like it’ll give me better height clearance (and a rear mounted mode switch as opposed to top mounted) over the PVS-30 objective when compared to the PEQ.
