Cabela's had a sale today so I got there early, waited and got one for $330. They sold out of them in about 15 min

What is that metal bracket that is included in the package intended to be used for? |

It goes around the rifle through the trigger housing and then you place the lock through it. Mine never left the box. There's a detailed picture in the directions.

Its used with the lock to secure the rifle.

Yes the lock bracket is scrap iron. I've been triing to get a take down for quite a while and finally got one today.
