My car got broken into in my driveway...again. This is the second time since the beginning of the year. They broke the dash trying to steal the radio, and took my whole ashtray which was full of change...and I just realized this morning my roadside tool kit as well. I've got about 400 watts of lights on the driveway, but that apparently didn't stop someone from raiding my car. So I think it's time I get a decent camera to mount on the house, pointed at my car. I don't have a lot to spend, but I can run the wiring, mount the camera, and do the rest of the setup myself. Is there a camera that can be had for a little over $100 that would give a picture good enough for the police to use? Or something to alert me on my phone when someone is in my driveway? I'm very frustrated right now, so I'm sorry if this seems short.

A $100 might not get you the desired results. For that price you could look at the Ubiquiti Aircam.
Here is a link to some $250 cameras compared to each other. And here is a link to a very long thread with lots of good info. |
