Gents, I'm a looking to get into blackpowder. I've shot a kentucky replica once before. Where does one begin? i'm looking for a flintlock, long arm, in a caliber large enough for deer. To make it harder, I'm left handed. Thank you |

sight-rail, I have always recommended the custom built guns for their superior parts, Quality barrel, locks, triggers and sights. This also would broaden the styles available to you as a left handed shooter. The Lyman Great Plains Hunter I have recommended to those who were not willing to spend the cash for a custom. I have also recommended the T/C Hawkin preferably with the drop in Green Mountain Barrel. Kinda depends on what you want to do. The Lyman Great Plains Hunter is available in .50 and .54 Cal in left hand models. I have a .50 and have taken deer with it no problem. |

The Lyman is a good recommendation for out of the box. For a real build, look at www.trackofthewolf.com |
