I mailed my application for a SBR (Form 1/Individual) on July 7, 2010.  I called almost 2 months later, (yesterday!), and was informed it was "assigned" to an examiner on 8/16/10....Is this normal?, or did my application packet sit around for nearly 30 days before it was assigned?.  I am sure I'm in for at least another 3 month wait, but am just curious if it is normal to take this long to simply be assigned to someone?.  Does something take place prior to an application being assigned?, My examiner is Nicole Dudash, and I sent them certified funds????  Thanks for any advice!!!

yes when your forms arrive at the NFA branch they take your money and put the rest into a pile after a few months they take it out of that pile and assign it to an examiner who puts it into another pile for a few more months then they send it back to you

The check for the transfer to my dealer was cashed on July 21 and it still hasn't been assigned or gone "pending."

+1

My check was cashed July 7 and is still not in the system as of yesterday.  They are seriously backlogged from what I hear.
