Forgive me, I don't know much about the pre-ban/post-ban stuff. 1. Is the only difference between a Pre-ban AR15 and a Post-ban AR15 the bayonette lug and flash supressor? 2. If I were to buy a Post-ban AR15, and the AWB sunsets (I doubt, but I hope), could I add the pre-ban features? 3. What would a Post-ban AR15 cost? 4. What would a Pre-ban AR15 cost? |

1. In addition, preban can have a telescoping stock, postban stock has to be fixed. There's also the obvious difference in the date the rifle was made. 2. Assuming the law goes away completely, I would expect you could add preban features or add a preban upper to a postban lower...basically, if the ban goes away, preban and postban definitions will go away... 3. Basically yes, although some transitional ARs lacked the bayonet lug. In addition, Pre-ban Ars may be able to accept a collapsible tele-stock.
Probably yes.
A pre-ban is much more expensive than an equivalent model from the same maker, maybe twice or more in price. But, you will have to do your own research on the price issue, unless someone more in tune with current prices comes along. |
