Why are the Mosin 91 like $69.00, but the sniper versions run up to $700.00 whats the big diffrence in them, I know that cant be a 500 dollar scope on em, whats the deal?

There just aren't that many authentic sniper rifles around, while you can't hardly throw a stone without hitting a plain jane Mosin.

If you're looking for a shooter, get a Finnish MN and DIY.

91/30, there were no M91 snipers. There is nothing speacial about an 91/30 sniper either. You don't neccesarily need a Fin to have a good sniper either. I built one for about $300. I looked at about 50 different rifles, chose the one I thought had the best barrel, bought a repro mount, rail and scope and it shoots a solid 3/4" at 100yds that strings to almost 13/8" after 40 rds continuously with 203gr Golden Bear SPs. Thats good enough for me and almost dead on with a Fin.
