I searched but couldn't find anything.

1) What is the life of body armor from the date it is manufactured? How should I store it when not in use?

2) If I were to say I could get a used Mar-Om Dolphin level IIIA vest with a manufacture date of 8/2005 with front and rear panels, in good condition for $45 out the door in a store closing sale, should I take it for might-need-it-someday SHTF use?

1) It should be stored in a flat, dry, temperature controlled environment.  It should NOT be rolled up nor hung up.  Store it on a shelf in your bedroom closet or something.

2) I would tell you to buy it, give me your address so I can mail you a check for twice what you pay for it and you hurry up and send it to me before you or the guy that sold it to you realize how INSANE OF A FUCKING DEAL THAT IS!!!!

Get it.  If stored correctly, particularly if it is hardly ever worn, and treated well, it should stay good virtually forever.  My only disclaimer is make sure it is Kevlar and NOT NOT NOT NOT Zylon and you're good.
