I know I will most likely get flamed for this (you don't know if you don't ask, right?), but for those who have and use Kryptek patterns, whats the consensus on mixing the patterns?  Mainly, I am looking at mandrake shirt/pants and highlander /coyote gear.  Not looking to do the big white dot on a black shirt effect if you understand what I mean by that.

Mandrake and highlander go together pretty well from my experience with them. Those are the only two color variations I have. They both also do well with multicam.

Mixing camouflage patterns is one of the best ways to improve its effectiveness.

Crye's submission the the Army's camouflage program used multiple types of camouflages that would combine to offer increased modularity to match the environment.

I mix them with 100% Multicam.

I don't think mixing patterns hurts anything. It's important to remember that animals are color-blind so the colors don't matter to them - only the silhouette breakup.

If you are concerned about camo vs people, I guess that would be something that you need to experiment with.

I believe I had read during the Army trials for cammo, the PPE would be in the transitional color of the cammo pattern and the actual clothing would be AO specific.  For multicam, the PPE would be the transitional multicam with say transitional, arid or tropical as the shirt/pants based on where the person was.

I was curious if kryptek could/would work the same way. But because I don't have it handy, I didn't know how using highlander would fare with mandrake being considerably darker (from what I can tell in pics).  Thus the white dot/black shirt analogy.  I don't think multicam in its different forms has enough separation from the transitional color to be that "sore thumb" as it seems highlander/mandrake might be.  Curious as to to whether those who have kryptek clothing/gear can elaborate a little more on it.  I know ATACS submitted a transitional entry, but I have yet to see it.

It's a fundamental part of camouflage, why would it change with the type of pattern?

GET IT DIRTY

this isnt a fashion show, the fastest way to get worn camo working well, is to get it worked in with local dirt and grime
