I know nothing about converted Mini 14s. I just spoke to a gentleman who is selling one in CT. Of course it is a Full Auto only conversion. He told me the conversion was a "Roller Cam Conversion". Is that a good conversion method for a Mini 14? Also how hard would it be to convert the Mini 14 into a select fire weapon after it has left the state of Ct.? Would this be an expensive conversion to select fire?

Thank You for your Help and suggestions!

Is he possibly referring to the first gen of Mini which had a bolt similar to the M14's bolt?
I have been looking into one of these conversions, also.  Seems you can get them fof just over 5K.

With a converted, full auto only Mini-14, conversion to select-fire would require you to design, manufacture and install the parts, or get a skilled machinist to do this for you. These conversions are basically one-offs, and you cannot simply buy any of the conversion parts for them.

I have seen converted, select-fire Minis that used a modified M14 selector assembly, so presumably those rifles could use some unmodified M14 selector parts.

I think it would be a much better bet to buy an AC556, unless the converted Mini was much less money than the AC.

Are you talking about the one in CT for 4.5K? That is the one I am looking at. If I buy it I want it converted back to select fire. I think I will look for one that is factory built in select fire.

Thanks for the info.
