I know nothing about converted Mini 14s. I just spoke to a gentleman who is selling one in CT. Of course it is a Full Auto only conversion. He told me the conversion was a "Roller Cam Conversion". Is that a good conversion method for a Mini 14? Also how hard would it be to convert the Mini 14 into a select fire weapon after it has left the state of Ct.? Would this be an expensive conversion to select fire?
Thank You for your Help and suggestions! Dane |

I have been looking into one of these conversions, also. Seems you can get them fof just over 5K. |

With a converted, full auto only Mini-14, conversion to select-fire would require you to design, manufacture and install the parts, or get a skilled machinist to do this for you. These conversions are basically one-offs, and you cannot simply buy any of the conversion parts for them.
I have seen converted, select-fire Minis that used a modified M14 selector assembly, so presumably those rifles could use some unmodified M14 selector parts. I think it would be a much better bet to buy an AC556, unless the converted Mini was much less money than the AC. |
