I don't remember if I read this or just imagined it but has anyone heard of or seen military M4's with M16A1 uppers? If so, what's the story behind them? Thanks!

The IDF has been using them for a long time now, They didnt have enough funds to totally buy and replace all thier CAR's for M4' so they just replaced the barrels and other internal parts. Check out this link:

The Canadians use the A1 sight system on their fixed handled rifles and carbines too.

Don't see them too often any more. They recently sold a bunch out of storage to the British though.
