I will be getting a nice M39 from wholesale gun.  I read that the barrels were shimmed in relation to the stock.  I would like to strip it and give it good inspection and cleaning.  Is there anything special I need to do about these shims?

Just be careful when removing the barrel and notice where any shims are.  They are easy to disasamble.  The M39's are great rifles.  I have two and both shoot great.  Very accurate.  One of mine is a real beater looing rifle with a great bore.  I love it when it prooves itself at the range against much prettier, newer rifles.

Thanks for the info.  I have a K31 that shoots nicely.  I know what you mean by shooting better than those wannabe sniper types.
