Are the M1 Garand Less Wood rifles just the rifle without the stock? Meaning that I would have to buy a stock?

Correct.  Also, they're returns from Denmark.  Read their history on the CMP's site- very interesting.

You also need the metal parts associated with the stock and handguards.
