I got a M1A Scout to replace my Colt Commando as a patrol carbine and put one of Fred's inexpensive GI synthetic stocks on it as the stock is going to get really beat up in the squad car rack. Do I need to fill in the selector cutout or are the odds of anything getting in there pretty slim?

My $0.02, I'd leave the M14 stock as is.

Thanks. I'm glad to save the money and effort as it's just going to get beat anyways.

some composite material I 'borrowed' from work.. can't remember what it was exactly. I can say it was 'aircraft grade'.

Your making me hungry for eggs, bacon and toast. I'd better go get something to eat before I spontaneously start buying more guns on Gunbroker in the confusion from the hunger.

Armscorp has a fake selector switch. Me thinks its about $50.

Believe it or not the OD ducktape works. I just added a ever so small amount to both sides of the stock and not only does it cover the hole it just so happens to protect the stock where it slides in the horizontal weapons mount in the squad car. That's brilliant.
