I am looking to get some ammo for my M14 but am wondering what the US military uses. ANy input on grains / brand would help out.

The US Military uses M80 Ball made by Lake City Army Ammunition Plant

147gr for the projectile

www.odcmp.com   They have bulk packed LC 308 ammo, the real deal, for sale.  Stay away from anything marked PD as they have a rep for poor QC on this ammo.

M80 Ball/147grn, M118 Special Ball/173 grn ,M118 match/173grn, M852/168grn, M118LR/175grn.  All are still in the system and used/issued for use in the 14's today.
