I have a scout and I'm looking for a scope that can be used in CQB and also assist in taking 600 yard shots for hunting game and suspects. i currently run a ACOG ta31f on my AR and that fits my style perfectly. I do not care if the optic fits my scout rail as I would be interested in purchassing a smith or other brand mount. I would also perfer a illuminated retical of some sort. any and every suggestion will be appreciated along with pics if you have them.
Thanks in advance Trey |
| Okay I'll stick my neck out. I would suggest getting a quality true 1X4 variable. I would peruse some of the 3 gun site's and pick up one of the gizmos that clamp on the scope's magnification adjustment. This will allow you to quickly adjust the magnification. 1X for CQB. Than if a target appears at say 500. Sweep the lever and bring up 4X. 4X may seem a bit low for 600 yard shots. And is if your building a precision rig. But with practice you should be able to hit 600 with 4X. Realistically 600 yard shots with a scout on game animals. And any optic that gives you both QCB and long range is well not very realistic. On the other hand if your "game" Animal walks on 2 legs. And your goal is taking him out. Well just remember that the sniper's our guy's face in the sand box. Are often equipped with no more than 4X fixed. And hit well at 600. And yes you will have to scrap the scout mount. Go with Sadlak or Smith on the receiver. |
