I just refinished two Remington 870's.  Both butt stock bolts were really hard to unscrew.  I just got a collapsible stock and when I went to screw the bolt that came with it on, I realized that both nuts on the receivers are cross threaded, so I didn't force it.  What do I do?

Replace the stud.  Brownells or Midway.
