Hello from the snowy tundra of Ohio,
This question may have been answered somewhere else but here it goes. How many people waiting on here have contacted their Senators and Reps to complain about the time turnaround? I know I might be living a dream world for thinking this but if they get bugged enough by enough people they might put a little pressure on the ATF to speed things up just a little. The analogy I use is this is like buying a car and letting it sit on the lot while the DMV takes a year to transfer the title and tags. Like I said dream world but what the heck. Thanks for listening to me rant for a little bit,

Rob Under THIS administration? ![]() Is the next one going to be better? This! I must say, as anti-obummer as I am. I have to ask, was electronic filing around when Bush was in office? |

I think E-Filing has more to do with the ATF's internal self-preservation from the crushing load/demand than it does with any administration. I doubt the administration even knows that E-Filing even exists. |

| To go along the self preservation thing. Do you know any govt. agency that would turn down money to hire new workers? Last time I looked the House and Senate pass the budget. Start pressuring the committee members to add more money for the ATF for the purpose of adding more examiners. Money talks. |

Not likely. Just as you scan in your trust, you would have to scan in CLEO sig. Quoted:

And it seems 41p, which the president is pushing, would effectively kill efile. For us, yes. For manufacturers and FFL/SOTs it will still have a lot of utility for Form 2s and 3s. I do hope they allow 5320.20s through e-file eventually as that will increase the utility of the system for all NFA item owners and will make their processes a lot more efficient as well. Quoted:

Xtreme 762 Here in Oh they are finally getting around to allow using suppressors for hunting and the use of Pistol Caliber Rifles for hunting also. Plus, the public unless told would not know if more money was put into the budget for that purpose. I'm from Ohio, lived there my whole life. Hunt there every year. I live in TN now due to Ohio's hunting laws. But Ohio's laws work, which is why Ohio is a big buck state. I just wish they would open up center-fire for at least 2 weeks a year. That would entice me to come back even for only one buck a year. I can't justify the investment of having dozens of firearms to shoot at paper, or the occasional coyote. So it was either KY, or TN. TN happens to be one of the most Vet friendly states in the U.S.. So TN it is until OH figures itself out. |

| The problem is NFA owners is a small group of overall gun owners. Do I like the current wait times? F no!! But the other issue is if you rock the boat too much, u may not like what shakes loose. Ever ponder that in 1934 when NFA was created the tax was a means to ban said weapons. My fear is if we make too much noise, they'll modify the current tax to stay on par with inflation. That sure as shit would reduce your wait times!! Face the fact, the issue is delicate and needs to be handled carefully, or just suck it up and deal. |

You can ask NFATCA about letter writings.... Ie: 41P Exactly. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. We're getting our shit approved, so don't rock the boat anymore. It's not smart to be beating the NFA drum while the liberals are in power. Remember, out of sight, out of mind. And NO, it ain't broke, just battered and bruised right now.

It IS a gamble if we should try to push it. $200 still aint no chump change, but it IS do-able. In todays dollars it would likely be around $3500 today. Yikes!
But, honestly, maybe what we should be pushing for isnt a speed-up on times. Maybe we should push for suppressors to be taken off of the registry..... |
