Got a 1889 carbine a couple years ago and empty cases wouldn't get thrown out after working the bolt.
So naturally I got a newly manufactured one(needed to be filed down a bit to fit into the receiver).
And still does not extract the spent case completely.
Also it was sporterized in the mid 70's, I know I know, but beautifully done, bore, barrel, stock, and action is perfect.
Could that be the reason for my problems? Is it common in sporterized krags?

Is the case just left sitting in the chamber, hanging half out, or what?  A good picture of the bolt and what-not would help. It's not out of line for the rifle to be modified to extract but not eject. It saves the fudd the hassle of looking for the brass.
