this looks like it would be a good way to run my mags, however i don't want to drop $160 on this, is there anyone else who makes something similar?

[#1]
are you currently running a LBT armor carrier? because that's what that is designed for.

LBT makes one for about $25 that holds three mags.

SKD tactical also released single mag versions for their PIG plate carrier for about $15 a piece, but I imagine that they would work in any velcro-based flap.

I'm going to be running an Eagle Sapi Plate Carrier that the marines will give me.  It has a Velcro pouch in it that I would guess will work with.

Mayflower makes a triple M-4 insert with velcro on it that works great an is much less expensive.

well i was buying a lot of stuff from SKD who was out of stock on the Mayflower pocket.  i went with the PIG Kangaroo Pouch instead, got 3 of them and i'll see how they work.  anyone use these before?

Both the London Bridge and the Mayflower work in the Eagle Plate Carrier and the Eagle Scalable Plate Carrier.

another option that I did for my Eagle carrier was using a BFG dapper pouch, cut down to 2 AR mags.  The reason for cutting down was because 3 magazines wouldnt fit in the opening.  It was an easy experiment since I had a dapper pouch already, and wasn't too concerned with cutting it.

Does anyone know if the Mayflower R&C insert will fit the Shellback Banshee? Anyone know of any inserts that fit the Banshee?

The banshee has a pretty short CB flap.  So I think the APC one will be too big.  Maybe the PIG?

how easy/hard is it to get back in the pouch? i have a molle ten speed m4 pouch and i would think it would be kind of difficult to reinsert mags when its inside the pocket like that.
8/25/2011 1:01:59 PM EDT

That is what a dump pouch is for.

no silly im talking about just regular reinserting of mags.

i didnt know the LBT and mayflowers fit in the eagle PC, i was thinking of getting one of those but i do like my tenspeed and thought it would be good too.

From the looks of it, it should not be too hard since it kind of keeps the pocket open.

I am going to order the PIG ones today, so we will see.  I will also test them in the Banshee.

yeah i think it would be pretty easy with the LBT or mayflower types, but the BFG ten speed dapper one would be harder since the pouch lays completely flat when your done

It's not too bad actually.  It does require two hands, just like all the BFG ten speed pouches though.  I find it nice when I want to run a 'slick' carrier.  Otherwise i usually have a triple ten-speed on the front of the pouch and haven't had a problem so far.

i already have a triple ten speed on the front, that would be pretty slick to have a ten speed in flap too.

Here's another picture with the triple ten speed on the front with 20 rounders in a cut-down BFG dapper pouch inside the kangaroo pocket.  Hope this helps!

Hey HSGI, hook and loop exterior lined taco shingles. With the fact that they expand for mag insertion how about 2x rifle mags and 1x pistol mag laid out flat with hook and loop front and back. I would be down for two setups in CB.

have you tried this? i just tried fitting 3 mags into my Eagle PC kangaroo flap and they dont fit...

the LBT-6094s flap is 8 columns wide, the EPC and SPC have only 6.

it looks like im gonna have to go with the BFG  ten speed.

I do not believe the LBT or the mayflower will work in the SPC.  just by looking at the rows of MOLLE, it doesn't even come close.  I definitely can't fit 3 PMAGs into my pouch, even without the dapper.

I will have 2 of the PIG inserts here on Mon or Tues, and I will show how they work in the 3 PCs I have.  A PIG, Banshee, and Eagle NSW.

im thinking of getting the PIG inserts as well just for ease of inserting mags vs the ten speed.

hmm, or i could buy both.

I have used it in the Eagle Plate Carrier with the removable cummerbund that comes with the FSBE kit but not the SPC.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't  the pockets pretty much the same size? You have to roll the end seam of the LBT to lay flat along the sides.  3 X GI mags will work.  Magpul mags are a bit tight and won't pull out quickly.  I used to have one in my kangaroo pouch when I ran GI mags with Magpul ranger plates.  The Mayflower pouch is about the same size.

i would think they are the same size since each picture shows them being 6 columns long.

i was using PMAGs before, but just tried it with soem USGI mags. i just couldnt fit the 3rd one in. i wonder if the pocket is cut tighter or something?

Ok, I got the PIG kangaroos in today, and here is how they for in a few different PC's.

PIG:  Perfect fit, as expected.

Banshee, you can fit 2, no problem.

Eagle NSW PC:  Enough room for 3

that eagle NSW has 8 columns for the flap so i think 2 will fit in my standard Eagle PC. thanks!
