| BigWorm, please do not take offense to this, but typically people ask "is this good" BEFORE buying. That being said, the eagle chest rig is well reviewed here and elsewhere with just little grips here or there. As for the holster... never used it sorry I can not comment. |

Ya I know, I did alot of searching for the past week, when I say alot I mean ALOT. I am in college and do nothing but school and arfcom research. I have seen the reviews and other suggestions on here. I just finally pulled the trigger on these two items today. Got excited and decided to share. No offense taken at all. Been looking for a good drop leg for my m&p 40 and this seemed as good as any. Thanks, WD |

your research yielded 2 good choices. You won't be disappointed. But you have to do something that most gear queers here don't, you have to go out and use it. Roll around in the mud with your gear, get your gun dirty and dinged. see if you can bust your new rig.
Good luck. |

That's the plan, what good is gear if you aren't familiar with it when the time comes to really depend on it. I feel the same way with my weapons. I am building a beautiful AR, but it will get used just as much as my others. I saw a quote a little bit ago about not cutting costs when your life depends on it. I would rather my gear, gun, whatever, fail during training and not in the heat of the battle. Thanks for the post. WD |

Where da holster is? Lol, ya I'm waiting on that. ETA tomorrow. Anybody have a nifty way of fixing some elastic mag retention deallys on this rig? Something that is fairly easy and cheap would be nice. thanks WD The elastic around the pockets does a pretty good job of retention and should be all you need unless you are going to be out doing cartwheels. Some people have sewn in loops for shock cord. |

That picture is such a mindfuck, first you are right handed then you are left handed which one is it!! I do agree run that thigh rig as high as you can get it. I think because the second one is in the mirror Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Someone give that man a cookie! |

Quoted: anymore suggestions on how I can improve on the chest rig or drop leg? thanks WD Run the thumb break across the rear of the slide. Tuck the Jump Strap behind the diamond panel and click it back in from underneath. (You wont be jumping out of airplanes) The thumb break strap is adjustable, lemme know if you need directions. Adjust the DL to where the leg strap is sitting next to your right nut. PRACTICE your draw and reinsertion, so that you don't even think about it. Build that muscle memory.. CXS |

Ya I changed that after I saw the pics and messed with it a bit more. Tuck the Jump Strap behind the diamond panel and click it back in from underneath. (You wont be jumping out of airplanes) Done. Thats a good idea, I was trying to figure out how to get that out of my way. The thumb break strap is adjustable, lemme know if you need directions. I adjusted it but it was a pain in my ass because of the velcro and the molle type straps across it, I just used pliers and pulled real hard, any easier way? Adjust the DL to where the leg strap is sitting next to your right nut. Done PRACTICE your draw and reinsertion, so that you don't even think about it. Reinsertion... lol Build that muscle memory.. CXS Thanks! WD |

Butter Knife Separating the Velcro PRACTICE your draw and reinsertion, so that you don't even think about it. Reinsertion... lol Just as Important as Drawing your pistol. Don't skip any steps like putting the pistol on safe and re snapping the thumb break. Build that muscle memory.. Dont forget this one.. CXS Thanks! WD CXS |

dont erckle that holster up too high! one of the advantages of a drop holster is so when you are mounted in a vehicle, you can flip the holster onto the top of your leg for access to a weapon since its too hard to swing a rifle around in a vehicle. if you cinch it up too high, it will make it harder to move the holster to the top of your leg, and if you do get it there, you probably won't have room to draw the weapon without hitting your other gear. YMMV
eta also the thumb break style holsters seem to be harder to holster and secure a weapon without taking your eyes off of a threat than a safariland or serpa style. at least for me anyway.... |

This is true, but can be done with practice. The stiff HSGI holster doesn't collapse on itself easily like normal Nylon Holsters. Once the Thumb Break strap is adjusted perfectly, re-snapping is a snap. CXS |
