DIY buffering. I'd rather just buy buffered shotshells rather than go through all that trouble.



For the short term its probably safe since shotguns are low pressure. I wouldn't try it in an older shotgun though. Long term wise I'd be worried about wax build up in the barrel.

People make wax bullets for revolvers all the time.  I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard of this for shotguns before.  I may make some wax slugs minus the birdshot just for shits and giggles.  I'll definitely be scrubbing my barrel out well afterwards, preferably when it's warm so the wax residue is soft.
