I have a friend who's 12 year son is cross eye dominant.  He is right handed but wants to try and shoot with his left eye.  He has tried shooting left handed but it does not work.  Any advise or remedies I can pass on to him??  Thanks for the assistance.

I'm left eye dominant yet shoot right handed.  With a rifle, it's not too much a problem.  I had to practice aiming with my right eye until it became a muscle memory/ conditioning thing.  Handguns are a separate issue.  I still have to concentrate on which eye I want to use.  I've seen some shooters use an eye patch.  I think that's another form of forcing the other eye to work.

I bought an eye patch from a pirate's costume one halloween and made my son wear it eyerytime he shot for several outings. He no longer has this problem

Brownell's actually has a few products that help with this issue.

I'm also right handed and wrong eyed.  I shoot both rifles and pistols right handed but use my left eye when shooting pistols.  Works for me.
