and no new law is renewed will californians be screwed and still have the same old crappy laws or will CA just give up and use the same laws as the federal gov? if CA has these really strict laws and the federal governments laws are different who would inforce the CA laws? The ATF is a federal agency so they can only inforce federal laws right?

State Restrictions will always supersede Federal Law, so CA, NJ, HI and other that passed state Assault weapons bills will not be effected by the potential failure to re-pass the 94' crime bill.

Yup, but oddly enough, maryland will probably still be one of the best class 3 states. Everyone's NFA forms in the state gets immediately signed if not a felon.

I can easily forsee a time when all handguns and rifles are outlawed, but your machinegun will be AOK.

I think the only way you guys living in oppression in CA, MD, NJ, NY, etc. will see your rights restored is if the Federal law is declared un-constitutional, then all the state laws would probably go down pretty quickly after that. Let's keep our fingers crossed. That would be a huge win for us if the Federal law were declared un-constitutional.

It's the DOJ (Department of "Justice"). Note quotation marks.

If you mean the federal ban, it will sunset (i.e., cease to exist) on September 13, 2004, UNLESS it is modified (to remove the section that causes it to sunset) or is otherwise extended or replaced by then.

If you mean the PRK ban, there is no expiration. It exists until the PRK Supreme Court rules it unConstitutional (which will NEVER happen, as they support it 100%), or another law is passed that abolishes it.
