I have a spare mx-10130d/uv tube. Aside from a pvs-7, what are my housing options? Are there any aftermarket pvs-14-ish type housings that will fit the mx-10130? Otherwise, i guess i need to start shopping around for a cheap pvs-7 housing.

Some weapons sights use a 10130 and if memory serves me a Russian housing or two. Your best bet is still a PVS-7 IMHO. The PVS-7 is still a fine scope. I have a 7B with a Onmi VII milspec tube and use it often. Probably more than I use my PVS-14. I just like the dual eye for viewing. If I am on the run or running my boat I use a 14.

The PVS-7 is a great housing - but I already have a pinnacle tubed PVS-7 that I will also have. I was hoping to expand my horizons, since I already have this tube, and its also an autogated thin filmed MX-10130D. When considering mounts, will the MX-10130D stand up to the recoil of a .223?

Sure, the 10130 is just as tough as a 11769 assuming the halo is appropriate for your use. The main difference between the tubes beside size and design is a fiber optic twist in the 11769. That is why the 11769 tube is a slight bit longer than a 10130. That is how we get to a inverting, or non inverting tube. The 10160 also uses a fiber optic twist and is the same tube module as a 11769. The difference between a 10160 and a 11769 is the power supply.

I truly appreciated all of the feedback - I'm still learning this stuff. I was hoping that there was something like an aftermarket pvs-14-ish housing existed for the MX-10130D/UV. It is a great tube - I'll just build it into a PVS-7 and offload it to get a PVS-14. Time to start part shopping, I guess.
