[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Howa rifles?

Thinking about getting a Howa 1500 in 308 for my all purpose rifle. Seem like a great value for the money and you can flex them into other roles for not much money. What does the hive mind think about them?

I have a 1500 heavy barrel .308 (20"). Like it a lot. Well made and very accurate. I like the HACT trigger as well. Overall, completely satisfied with it.

I didn't like the the angle the trigger was at compared to the stock wrist. So i passed and bought a stevens 200.....I should have just bought a Remington.

The Howa 1500 series is a very good quality, accurate rifle. They were sold under the Smith & Wesson name several years ago and are still sold as the Weatherby Vangard. A friend has a heavy barreled .22-250 that I cannot talk him out of; a great shooting rifle.
