Hi all, I've started on my on case feeder for an XL650. I've seen a lot of videos of these things and they look easy enough to build. One thing is giving me some trouble though, and that is how the connect the motor to the shellplate in such a fashion that the shellplates can be dropped it.This is my motor. I've got a coupler that adapts the motor shaft to 1/4".
So far I'm thinking adjust the set screw in the 1/4" side of the coupler in a bit and file a flat into a 1/4 lag bolt which will drop into the coupler after running that through my MDF shellplate with a locknut holding the shellplate to the bolt. The issue I'm running into there is I have to have the motor spaced nearly two inches back from the bottom of the bucket so the coupler and shaft don't raise the shellplate so high that brass just falls under it. Input (and pictures if you have them!) would be greatly appreciated! |
