I am not real happy with the paint job I did on my AR15 - how do I get the paint off? The scope has Krylon Fusion on it and the rifle itself is mostly finished in Amumhyde II?
Any advise would be appreciated. Chris |

Brake cleaner gets Krylon off. I know paintball paint stripes krylon off like a motherfucker if left on it. Someone in the R-15 refinishing thread found a solvent at Wal-mart IIRC that worked VERY well too. Was just lookin at it Klean Strip Premium Stripper at Wal Mart.

Will this harm the black finish that is anodized? or will it just strip whats painted on? I have mine painted but plan on doing a diff job on it and dont want to have any aluminum finish showing when it wears. I want i black underneath I don't THINK it will harm it. Do a small test batch on top of the rail under the scope mount or somewhere inconspicuous and easy to cover up. This stuff is strong and will eat away at plastic and paint but I think anodizing is G2G. Not responsible if it strips it to the bare aluminum. |
