What do I need to attach a Wilcox AKHMa ANVIS mount to, say, a Bell Faction, ProTec or similar type of skateboard/bike helmet?

LINK TO WILCOX AKHMa ANVIS MOUNT

Also, has anyone here had any experience with the AKHMa? How durable is it?

Well, let me tell you.  That mount in the picture of the link you provided is my ACH in Iraq.  I helped Ed with his design and tested it for him in Iraq. I had that ANVIS mount on my helmet, every flight in case I needed to evade, good bit of secure feeling knowing I could take my ANVIS off my HGU-56, snap it on my ACH and be moving right on out.
As for the mount, you will need a military Rino mount on your helmet, then you just snap his mount into the Rino and you are set.  Oh ya, you will need a battery pack as well.

By Rino mount, you mean one of these two plates that are pictured?

Yep that is what he means. They are generally referred to as helmet plates. For a skate board helmet either will work. might take a bit of bending to get the PASGT pattern to fit but they are made of aluminum so the "feet" are somewhat easy to bend.

The whole idea behind the Wilcox mount is to be able to use the ANVIS platform on Ballistic helmets. Like Sniper 66 said  you don't want to be running around on the ground with your flight helmet on just so you can use your goggles.

One very cool thing is when your goggles are folded up, they don't stick WAY above your head like a 14 does.

That would be nice. Having an extra 3 feet above my head takes some getting used to at night

Yeah catching your 14 on the top of a door jam as you RUN through it is disconcerting to say the least.

I hate to keep ripping-off other people's pictures, but what kind of strap is on the top of this helmet?

I'll probably need to use one on my set-up...

That is just the top strap that normally attaches to either the PASGT or MICH plates.

The top strap is typically used when you don't install the mount with the screw.  It allows you to install and remove the mount when it's not needed.

I have kind a love hate relationship with the stupid retaining strap. It really does lock down the helmet plate but it does get caught on stuff at the worst times.
