Im looking to get a Harris Bipod for My springfield stantard M1A and it says that it reouiers installation of a QD stud. What is required in installing one of these? do I have to drill the stock?

if you esnd it to springfield they do it for you.  I believe they paid shipping and the part was free or it was the other way around.  Gi brat had his done a few months ago and it looks pretty good

I have the SA M1A Scout Squad. I sent the stock to Springfield along with a check for $40 (I think that's the amount, but not sure). I got the stock back in a little over 3 weeks. Looks great and I have had no problems with it. I recommend letting SA do the work. Only down side was the wait to get it back.

I sent my M1A back to Springfield to have a QD Stud installed, here are the results. Springfield paid for shipping both ways and this addition is covered under future warranties. My cost was $45.00, $15.00 for parts, $30.00 for labor
