What twist does the original 93 have? Do the 93 clones like Vector have the same twist, and are they worth owning?

1/12

Most all HK 93s came with 1:12 twist barrels, but a few of the late guns came in with 1:7 twist HK33 barrels.

Are the barrels marked? I purchased a factory camo HK33 a couple of weeks ago, and danged if I can find a twist marking?

Yes, the 1/7 ones will be marked "178" on the bottom of the barrel, under the handguard. There are very very few of these rifles around. Even some of the ones with the sought after HK33 barrels are 1/12 twist..I know...I had one. I dont particularly care for the 62g bullets in 5.56 so I prefer the 1/12 twist myself.
Did you buy an NFA HK33 or?

No, it's a semi. Seems to be in pristine condition, and I paid through the nose for it. I had never seen the factory camo pattern though, so I splurged. Are you saying I have to remove the handguard to find the marking?

camo came in woodland and desert, the desert camo are I think mostly going to be 1988(II) vintage, woodland might have been earlier. I like the woodland myself......and have 2 new woodland 93 mags.........just incase I get a woodland 93
yes, take the forend off and look for the 178 markings as stated above. no 178......its 1/12
I also have a II dated 93, with the 33 barrel but its 1/12 not 1/7

Are there any decent 93 clones available? 93's are kinda high; 2800 - 3500.

I will as soon as I can. The weapon is in my vault (which is not at my house), and until I get my other arm back, I can't even carry it.

Thanks for the pics!
Now I do remember seeing an H&K for sale painted at a gunshow, including the magazine. Do you think this was done by the company in Germany, or their US division?

Whose "set-up" is the SAR; is that an HK factory? It looks like the barrel's floated. I've never seen that particular guard. That's a damn good looking weapon!

It was supposed to be 1/7" back when it first came out and I was paying attention to such things.
I can't find any markings on the barrel on mine though.
