What type of steel are they made of?
I remember a old thread on the subject but don't remember the details.

Well I got two on the way now consecutive SN#s.:) Just hope they are in spec. One is new and still stripped and the other has the FCG and stock. Was told it runs 100%.

I found my old thread on the subject I posted way back when but can bring it up.

Thanks Tony but I got a long ways to go before they are mine. The form 3 was just sent out to transfer to my dealer. Think form 3 are taking about a month. Once it gets to my dealer I don't really care how long the wait is since I do most my shooting there. I have been waiting about 3 months now for a form 4 to a form 3 my dealer and the wait is killing me:(. Those are 2 consecutive# HK DLO trigger boxes btw;)

I will post pics when they arrive. The main concern is the lowers being out of spec. Is there anyway to dig up my old thread so I can go over it again or is that against the rules??

I started the thread and I think it was group industries stainless steel receiver questions.

Thanks,
Andre

As an owner of a Group Ind SS lower, I can tell you mine is in perfect spec. I've had mine for almost 20 years and its still in perfect shape. paid double the price back when lowers were 600 bucks. Fell into it without really realizing what I was buying. Brings a smile to my face

Yes that is who I purchased my recievers from. The add does not say it but he has 5 of them consecutive SN#s all stripped except for the one pictured. I purchased 2 and think he sold one other one. He is only keeping 1 for himself so I think one stripped lower is still for sale.:)

How much do they go for?

Around 14k a pop. Some would say buy a real Colt for that kind of money but the benifits of a steel lower makes it worth it for me. Ones geting dedicated to 22lr and maybe 5.7x28 with a side folding stock and the other one will be setup for .223/5.56. My rdias is going to be put in a MGI lower with a shorty AK upper if I can ever find a 7.5" upper. I am planning on shooting the crap out of these and don't want to worry about destroying them. I have  had a kaboom with my Colt rr and that honestly scared the shit out of me. Luckily my upper only blew up and lower was not harmed. Hopefully the steel lowers can take more abuse.

thats my reasoning for keeping mine....nothing short of a hand grenade is gonna hurt it, and for the money spent on a 16 lower...its good insurance.

I have had that Dias for a while now and for the first time in a while it got neglected at the range LOL. Yes Vlodpg it's a Billistics like the one you have. If we put our rdias next to each other they would be conseutive SN#s.;)

Well just my luck I sold one of the receivers to purchase some land to have my own personal shooting/hunting range and the deal didn't work out. But the good news is I found another Group Ind. lower lol. Now just got to wait for another transfer.:(

And congrats to the board member that snagged one of my lowers.
