Title says it. I just saw this stuff the other day and am wondering if it's quality. Anyone have any experience with it?

By quality I mean:
Is it consistent?
Is it accurate?
Does it cycle well?
Does it go boom when trigger is pulled every time?

I have shot about 2 bricks of the stuff through my SR22 pistol, RAR, and Charger...accurate and reliable plinking ammo. Ymmv

Several bricks through RAR, 10/22, and 22/45.  Accurate and reliable.  Even cycles the semis 95% of the time unsuppressed

It's my go to .22 ammo. Their .300 BLK 187 subsonic is also very good.

I'd shoot it exclusively if it was as available as the CCI Standard Velocity 40 grains.  Shooting suppressed, it's 100% reliable.  Only shoot it unsuppressed to get baseline velocity and to make sure it isn't keyholing in my host.  Oh, also to let people compare to suppressed noise-wise.

yes, the only thing I shoot through my 22LR rifle and pistol, 100% suppressed, 100% reliable thus far across ~2K rounds

good to go, get some

Well awesome. Thanks for the feedback guys.

My LGS is selling it for $40/500 rounds. Should I fo on that?

Yes to all of your questions. Great stuff.

However, availability is an issue in my neck of the woods so I generally stick with CCI SV which is more readily found at the local shops and about $15-20 a brick less than Gemtech's offering.

I would fo hard at $40 a brick. The one place that carries it here sells it for $60-65 a brick.

I've shot a few thousand through a suppressed mostly Kidd 10/22 with a Sparrow, a SIG P220 with the .22 conv. unit and Sparrow and it works very well.  Kinda reminds me of the old Winchester Silhouette load from the early 1990's.  Never had a problem with it cycling my guns unsuppressed.  Made by CCI, seems like they just took the 40 grain SS HP and made it a solid bullet.  It is a step up from CCI SV 40gr., for what it is worth.

Lately I've been buying the Winchester 42 grain subsonic HP's.  They hit hard and the soft lead HP really makes a mess on varmints.

I'm sitting on a case I got from them during a sale Gemtech ran awhile back. Have shot it in the past.
This and CCI subsonic 22lr is all I ever shoot. Never had any issues with either, and CCI makes it for them.

I found the Gemtech stuff awhile back and thought it was the best .22LR suppressed fodder you could shoot. Way better than and far more quiet than the Remington subsonic I used in the past.

But then I found the Federal American Eagle 45 grain load. This stuff is absolutely the bomb. Perceptively more quiet than the Gemtech load, copper washed instead of lead, and at 970 fps it still cycles every semi-auto action I've used it in, rifle or pistol.

Federal American Eagle in the black box.....who knew??

CCI makes a similar load with a 45 grain LHP @ 970 as well though I have not tried this yet.

Nice score!

Hell, I'd buy a case a $39.99 a brick if he can drop ship it to my house. :)

Email sent.

I appreciate the request and your attention to quality control and CS.

Just to clarify, the issues I see unsuppressed are primarily stovepipes/poor ejection out of a p22 and to a lesser extent a 22/45 lite.

Both of those guns are known to be finicky unsuppressed for me, especially the walther, and the 95% number is a good mark in my book, not a bad one.

It works.

I liked the Aguila subsonic HP better, and the CCI segmented subsonic HP better still.

But it works.

Yes to all. One thing from a hunter, 42 grains hits hard. I noticed this with heavy steel plates, i was knocking over. Told my dad other day, this is only 22lr ammo I'm going to buy for future purchases, although I have stockpiled other 22lr brands.

You'll love it.  My CZ 455 with a Sparrow on the end with subsonics is spooky quiet.  So quiet I thought something was wrong the first time I fired it.

I have to get a bolt action you guys make me want one so badly. Really leaning towards the RAR with the short barrel since I have a 10/22 already and it shares mags.

This is what you seek.

Savage Mark II BV on top and a very hard to find PWS Summit triggered action with a Feddersen 18" fluted barrel.

Everybody who's shot the PWS loves it. Sad thing is they are nolonger producing it. I got one from the last production run a few years back.

This maybe a stupid question but is subsonic ammo even a bit quieter out of an unsuppressed gun?  I assume it would be but I don't know I've never tried it.

As already stated it's quieter, but the reason is there's no supersonic crack. Sub's operated below the speed of sound. All you get is the muzzle blast.

The PWS Summit is my favorite 10/22 style setup. Uses alot the same main parts as 10/22 so you can trick them out and have a closed breech for suppresor so it's super quiet. I've heard rumors that PWS may make another limited run of them if so I'm buying two more. On the main topic the Gemtech 42gr is great I've shot over two cases of it no issues at all.

I already did cci vs eley and was quite surprised.

WOW those PWS are very nice with a serious price tag to go along with them. Just looked on their site and they were $800 when they offered them.

Very interesting what they did with the 10/22 design.

Torchy in for your results and data. Please provide rifle specs as well.

Here's some averages I ran through my PWS with 12.5" SBX barrel and a 16" browning T bolt several
months back. Temp was around 60 degrees that day. I would be interested to see your numbers also as temp and different host weapons play with the numbers some.

12.5" SBX rifle

45gr federal AE suppressor 962fps
45gr CCI HP 975fps
42gr Gemtech 1014fps
40gr CCI  Seg HP  1070fps
40gr Eley HP 1028fps

16" T-Bolt

42gr Gemtech 1040fps
45gr CCI HP 981fps
45gr Federal AE suppressor 970fps
40gr CCI Seg Hp 1100fps
40gr Eley 1044fps

M&P compact 22

40gr CCI Seg HP 936fps
40gr Eley HP 852fps
45gr CCI HP 848fps
42gr Gemtech 887fps
