So I was watching a video on the take down instructions on surplusrifle.com and he was using a Garand tool to take of the front gas screw and on the other side it had a brush to clean the chamber.

Where can I find one

If you have the stamped trigger guard on your M1, the end tab of the guard is formed to be used to remove the gas plug.

Here is what I did.  The flat part is 1/2 across on the original tool.  You won't find a cheap, short screwdriver that is 1/2 inch across.  I looked and googled.  So what I have done is to order cheap screwdrivers from Harbor Freight and put one in with each Garand.  They cost about $2 each.  The good ones like at Home Depot start at $8 plus.

Nothing tightens the gas screw as well as a Gas Screw Wrench or a 1/4 inch drive ratchet with extension

I discovered the other night that the tail of a LaRue armadillo bottle opener will fit the gas plug of a garand...
