Does M855 brake up during penetration inside 50m like M193?  Also, I've heard that M193 is superior for penetration at close range due to its higher velocity, is this true?

Both fragment at velocities above 2700 FPS. This is a reprint of a Fackler article and it appears to have a few typos. Should be M855 not M856 or M866.
