Hey guys can a shotgun that is currently registered on a Form 4 be transferred as an AOW?? Sorry for the ignorant question just getting into all of this side of stuff.

It can if it's truly an AOW (like a Serbu Super Shorty).



AOW's transfer on Form 4's for $5 - SBS's are $200.

If it has or ever has had a buttstock on it, it is not an AOW, but an SBS.

Here is the shotgun that I am talking about and it has never had a buttstock on it, but does the ATF consider the buttstock of the AR to be the buttstock of the shotgun? I have read somewhere that the rules differ for a rifle/shotgun combo and AOW's. I dont know this is why I am asking, as I am just now starting to look into all of this stuff.

KAC Masterkeys are Form 2 registered as a SBS ($200 tax stamp) at the factory since they become "shoulder-fired" when mounted to a rifle, as designed.
