I checked the How To sticky and didn't see anything on this so here we go.

I just submitted my first Form 1 for a SBR and now am wondering if I messed up on the caliber I listed on 4c.
The Form 1 is to convert an AR pistol that is chambered for 5.56 but I had a 300 BO upper built for it to SBR length.

I submitted my paperwork showing just 300 BO but will want to swap back to the 5.56 upper sometimes.

How does this work?
Do I need to submit anything additional to the ATF?

Thanks.

No, you're fine. You can switch between the 5.56 upper and the 300 upper at will.

Sounds like your first short barrel configuration will be .300BO, in that case you acted correctly in putting .300BO as the caliber on the form (more specifically, .300 being the caliber).

After it is approved, you can feel free to swap out uppers of different calibers and barrel lengths as you see fit, no need to notify the ATF unless you plan to make it a "permanent" change, such as if you sell the .300 upper and plan to make it a dedicated 5.56 SBR from then on or something.
