I just pre-ordered a Saker 762, sent all the information to my dealer, now what? When do I need to e-file? After getting the serial #?

Thanks for any help.

Your dealer should call you when they have it in stock.  Thats when the ball gets rollin.
I take it you have a trust already?  If not, you cant eFile.

Once your dealer gets the serial number, they can eFile the form 4.

Nope, they can efile the form 4 when the eForm 3 to them has cleared.  eForms you don't just fill out the serial number, you have a list of what the ATF says is registered to you, and you can only efile forms from among those serial numbers.  Same for paper form 3/form 4 - you can't file on them until the ATF has entered the serials from the paper transactions into your inventory bucket on the atfonline.gov web application.

Yes I have my trust set up.

When will I file my form 1 through the ATF website?

You will not file a Form 1 at all to buy a silencer.  That happens with a Form 4, and if you're doing the eFile think, your dealer has to file it for you.  You file a Form 1 to make an NFA item like an SBR.  You can file that whenever you decide you want to start waiting, and have enough of a plan of what you're going to make.

So my dealer does everything until I am cleared?

And

Oh ok. I am looking to build a SBR pretty soon though. So all I have to do is find a lower, and efile a form 1, then wait for I to clear?

That is correct.

Lets clear this up, Form 1 you can eFile because you are the maker no matter which item it is silencer, SBR, SBS etc.. A Form 4 is a transfer of the already made item silencer, SBR,SBS etc to you. Now aside from this, you must have a trust if not then you or anybody else dealing for you can't eFile on your behalf. If he is not set up for eFile he has to set himself up and create an account. If he refuses or doesn't want to he'll send off the forms in the mail and that will be a long wait.

Correct, and once you are cleared, there's nothing else to do other than pick up the item from your dealer and fill out the 4473.  Oh, and take the approved Form 4.

And engrave the lower if going trust f1 route
