| Which is the better of these two FN 223's and why? |
FS2000s have issues, mine was melting from inside the grip because of unburned powder getting into the grip through the bolt carrier chanel making it pit inside, and I have seen threads where the charging handle broke off in the owner's hand. I would go for the SCAR, I have had both rifles and the SCAR is sub moa and fairly well made where the FS2000 grouped about 2 moa and had a tendency to pull to the right during recoil IIRC, its been a few years since I had a 2000. Like previousely stated if you want a bullpup I would go for an AUG A3 from Pete Athens as they are pretty cheap (1900 with extra mags) and they are not being made anymore so they should only go up in value. Whatever you do however if you buy an AUG get the Steyr AUG mag stock NOT THE NATO as cool as it is to have your rifle use M16 mags the NATO stock uses 1 trigger bar for you hammer pack and results in an uneven inconsistant trigger pull (worst trigger of any gun I have ever had and I have had almost everything) the regular AUG stock uses 2 trigger bars and has a pretty decent trigger for a bullpup, kinda like a Glock trigger. When I was in Iraq I ran across some Ausies with F88s and it kinda made me want an A3
Hope this helps, Nate |

the reason we have not been helpful is because to come on here and simply ask what is better is laziness. you'd be amazed on what you can find on google or through a search function on the website.
It's just such a broad question. If you asked about something specific, or added a little meat to the question then I am sure you would have had more replies than you could read. From what your original question asks, you wanted all the information without having to do any research for yourself. I'm usually pretty nice to guys when they ask questions like this, but really, if you do the research for yourself you'll be able to make a better, more informed decision. |

A bullpup vs a standard configuration rifle. Should be pretty easy to determine, which one you want since each have just by virtue of their configuration positives and negatives. Both are also vastly different in price with FS2000s coming up for sale at around $1500 and sometimes even less. Whereas your SCAR 16S is going to be over $2,000. If I was looking for home defense and I couldn't or didn't want to SBR then I'd go with the FS2000. If I wanted a general purpose rifle and money was no object then I'd go with the SCAR 16S. |
