The bayonet attaches onto the bayonet lug which is on the barrel on the full size verison. The carbine verison appears to have this deleted. The muzzle device is a combination flash hider and brake.

Some have bayo lug adapters to take the M7 bayo, otherwise they take the tubular looking bayonets that go on some FALS.
